2-Semester Pathway - Pre-Master's Programme - Continue to Master of Arts - Climate Change Politics and Policy

The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is a two-semester programme, with guaranteed progression to a wide range of Master’s degrees at Loughborough University.

This Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The PMP will allow them to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master's degree studies. They will study academic modules relating to their chosen progression route. Each semester consists of thirteen teaching weeks, one reading week, and an assessment week. The weekly hours of study varies by semester with them on average studying around 18-21 (and up to 21) hours per week. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the programme and to allow them to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate programmes. Assessments will include coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examination and unseen written examinations.

Master of Arts - Climate Change Politics and Policy: The Master of Arts - Climate Change Politics and Policy addresses the urgent societal challenge of climate change, with a broad, international, problem-focused perspective that will suit students from a wide range of backgrounds. Modules that form part of this programme tackle issues such as international politics and globalization, sustainability and development, crisis governance, and putting climate science into practice. They will graduate prepared to become agents of change who can embed sustainable, critically-informed practices into their careers. Their training will enable public and private sector organisations to survive and thrive because they have a command of science, politics and policy.
