Year One Foundation Program in Arts (Augustana) - Transfer to Bachelor of Management - Management
University of Alberta Year One Foundation Program (in partnership with Kaplan International)
What you will study
When students join the University of Alberta’s Year One Foundation Program, they become U of A students from day one. They receive academic support that prepares them to enter a bachelor’s degree program in their second year, along with a “soft landing” to studying in Canada.
The University of Alberta’s Year One Foundation Program represents the first year of a four-year bachelor’s degree. It is designed for students who have course deficiencies and do not yet meet the academic entry requirements for their chosen degree program. Upon successful completion of the program, students progress directly into the second year without losing time on their path to graduation.
Why study this program? This program offers direct entry from high school and combines a more traditional, generalist business management degree with the breadth of the liberal arts degree, giving students a broad skill set to adapt and thrive in virtually any career.
Students will study business management, finance, accounting, marketing, strategic planning, and organizational behaviour, and they will develop skills in critical thinking and analysis, research, reading, writing, and presenting.
Why study at the University of Alberta? Augustana is a small campus located in Camrose, Alberta, just one hour southeast of Edmonton. This liberal arts and science campus is home to just over 1,000 students from across Canada and around the world. Augustana offers degree programs in an intimate and personalized setting, with an average class size of 22 people.
Each semester is comprised of a three-week session studying a single course, followed by a more traditional 11-week session studying up to four courses. This gives students the opportunity to dive deeper into research, travel, and other experiential learning endeavors, while at the same time reducing stress and workload.
