What you will study
Program Description Criminology students will explore the intricate dynamics of crime, criminals, victims, and the legal system. Unlike an episode of CSI, while forensic science is a component of their studies, the curriculum also incorporates sociology, psychology, and law to analyze the definition of crime, the motivations behind criminal behavior, and societal responses. Criminologists concentrate on: • Theories that elucidate the causes of crime.
• The social consequences and reactions to crime and deviance.
• Victimization.
• The criminal justice system and law enforcement responses, as well as crime prevention strategies.
Students are encouraged to adopt an interdisciplinary approach that integrates sociology, psychology, and law. They will engage with real-world challenges and strive to find effective solutions to the social issues associated with crime and victimization.
