Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Psychology with Counselling (Sandwich Year)

Program Description This exciting new course provides the opportunity to study the fascinating world of psychology in combination with counselling. The course is ideal for those who want to acquire a breadth of experience and knowledge in psychology, whilst following a specialised and distinctive programme in the ever-evolving field of counselling.

In the first two years of the degree, students will complete an introduction to psychology and counselling with core modules in biological, social, developmental and cognitive psychology, counselling techniques and tools, and students will undertake training in research methods and statistics. In the final year, students will sit a further core module in psychology and counselling, and can select specialist final year modules linked to the areas of staff research expertise within Psychology. In the final year, students will also complete a research project in psychology, focused on a topic of their choosing under the supervision of a research-active member of staff. Please be advised that this program includes a sandwich year, which will be studied during the student's undergraduate degree.
