What you will study

The foundation year in this bachelor's course in architecture is an intensive year that will equip students with studio and workshop skills to help them progress on to more in-depth study of architecture in the subsequent three years of their degree. Students will learn how to make informed decisions about their own work, become a creative practitioner, and gain confidence to present and defend their work.

The foundation year will be shared with others studying a degree with a foundation year in London Metropolitan University's School of Art, Architecture and Design, so the subjects they’ll study will not be directly linked to architecture but they’ll get to explore different creative practices. There is an emphasis on engagement with materials, forms and processes to develop their practical skills in all creative practices within the School. Students will also attend lectures and seminars that will introduce them to of historical, contemporary and cultural contexts within a range of creative practices.

An International Bright Futures Scholarship in the amount of £3,000 will automatically be applied to eligible students with overseas fee status starting a degree with London Met in the 2024/25 academic year. This scholarship includes a tuition fee reduction for the duration of students' studies and is applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Tuition Deposit is £4,000 for all students excluding those from Punjab and Haryana for whom the deposit amount will remain at 50%
