First Year Pathway in Music - Continue to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Popular Music

Anglia Ruskin University College - Cambridge

What you will study

Program Description ARU has strong links with industry, so students can do work placements at music studios, theatres or production companies – and start building a standout CV while students study. There are four different music degrees to choose from: • Study music in the context of its modern application rather than historical period on the full-time Music BA (Hons) degree. • Learn how to succeed in the music business, from performance to production, by studying full-time Popular Music degree. • Discover how sound works, and how technology can help people master it, on the full-time, industry accredited Audio and Music Technology BSc (Hons) degree

With the BA (Hons) Popular Music degree, students will get the chance to develop their musicianship and take it to the next level. Students can immerse themselves in the student community, and collaborate on projects such as music videos, and film or computer game soundtracks. There’s a focus on live performance throughout, with the chance to perform at festivals and in well-known music venues around Cambridge. From notation and song-writing to the history and culture of popular music, students will gain an awareness of the different styles and techniques that can inform their own music.
