Extended Accelerator - Bachelor of Science - Business - Business Analytics

The Extended Accelerator Program is a three-semester program for students seeking an immersive English-learning experience. The program gives students a firsthand practical and cultural understanding of the Auburn University campus and the Auburn, Alabama, area through its contextual curriculum. Upon completion of the program, students progress into year two of their undergraduate education with a full year’s worth of academic credits.

Auburn University are in the age of “Big Data,” and it’s certainly a fitting description. According to a study by IBM, 90 percent of the world’s data has been created since 2011. Business and governments need sharp, savvy professionals who can help them manage a potentially overwhelming volume of data and a dizzying rate of creation and provide clarity. Graduates of this program will be able to analyze data and use the findings to guide organizational decision-making.

A business analytics degree offers a clear avenue to a fulfilling and financially-rewarding career. According to a study by McKinsey Global Institute, the U.S. will face a potential shortage of 140,000 to 190,000 professionals with sharp analytical skills by 2018. The study also highlights a need for another 1.5 million executives, managers and analysts who understand how to harness “Big Data” and utilize it in making decisions.
