Integrated Foundation - Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Psychology (C802)

University of Reading

What you will study

This four-year program includes a foundation year that leads directly into the three-year course. It provides an excellent route to a degree in psychology if students do not have the typical entry requirements. Throughout their studies, students will: build their knowledge of current and historical approaches in psychology; explore and evaluate current research methods and applications – and learn how to conduct research of their own; and develop a critical understanding of ethical issues in research and professional practice.

The Foundation Year will provide students with the skills and knowledge to succeed at university. Students will complete two psychology focused modules, offering a broad foundation in the subject. These will be complemented by a module in academic skills and a selection of optional modules taught across the University.

Gain professional experience at one of University of Reading's in-house NHS clinics, or via an outside organization such as a charity. The clinics treat a variety of conditions, including anxiety, dementia, and speech and language disorders. The university also offers research assistant placements, which allow students to get involved in grant-funded projects.
