Bachelor of Arts - Anthropology (UZ)
Wilfrid Laurier University - Waterloo
What you will study
A Bachelor of Arts degree allows students to combine anthropology with another field, such as international relations, law, economics, or linguistics, thereby creating a dual major. This approach facilitates a broader education by integrating the study of human societies and cultures with an additional discipline, resulting in a unique skill set applicable to various career paths. Students will examine how individuals in different contexts and historical periods govern their societies, conduct business, engage in leisure activities, organize familial structures, practice spirituality, resolve legal disputes, construct urban environments, resist exploitation, produce art, and seek meaning in life, among other topics. Learning outcomes for this program include: • A comprehensive understanding of socio-cultural processes.
• Enhanced self-awareness and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to advocate for cultural diversity, engage in persuasive argumentation for diverse audiences, and collaborate effectively in teams.
• Proficiency in conducting ethnographic research projects involving human participants.
