University of Roehampton

What you will study

A degree that will give students an authoritative political voice at this most critical period in world politics. As we all try to navigate the climate change emergency, global conflicts, Brexit, and economic challenges in a post-pandemic world, studying a Politics and International Relations degree at Roehampton will give learners the knowledge and the tools to understand how individuals get here, and how they can create a better future. Through the core modules, students will learn in class how to apply the skills of negotiation in different situations and how to apply leadership and communication skills. Allied to this solid practical dimension they will receive a strong grounding in the conceptual and theoretical approaches to the study of politics, and in the sources and methods used in political analysis. BA Politics and International Relations at Roehampton is designed with a strong emphasis on International Relations and global politics. Students will look at key global issues including human rights, political resistance and violence, climate change and the politics of gender, race and class. They will also have the opportunity to specialize in the politics of particular regions, through modules that focus on, for example, the Middle East, North America, Russia, China and the Global South.
