What you will study

HIC offers University Foundation Studies for candidates who do not meet the direct entry criteria or hold high school qualifications that are not recognised. Upon successful completion of the pathway programme students will progress onto the University of Hertfordshire.

Core topics include foundations of computation, programming, multimedia, networks, databases, operating systems, software engineering and professional issues. In addition, students will choose from a wide range of specialist modules to tailor their degree to their interests. As well as gaining an understanding of the wider context in which systems operate, students will develop their communication and team-working skills. Thanks to the nature of this degree, students will develop the broad skills many employers are looking for while keeping their career options open.
