Humber Polytechnic - North
The Acupuncture program provides comprehensive theoretical and practical training in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. Students study subjects such as anatomy, physiology, pathology, acupuncture theory, meridian systems, point location, treatment planning, clinical assessment and safe needling techniques.
Through laboratory instruction and supervised clinical practice, students develop the skills required to assess clients, maintain accurate records and deliver safe, ethical and patient-centred acupuncture treatments. The program also emphasizes infection prevention and control, professional communication, evidence-informed practice and compliance with applicable health-care legislation and professional standards.
Graduates may pursue opportunities in acupuncture and integrative health clinics, multidisciplinary wellness centres, rehabilitation settings or private practice. Registration, certification or licensing requirements vary by jurisdiction, and graduates must meet the requirements of the relevant regulatory authority before practising professionally.
