English Language Preparation + 2-Semester Pathway Pre-Masters - Science and Engineering - Transfer to Master of Science - Computing with Digital Media

The English Language Preparation program is a chance to improve your English language skills before beginning your pathway program. This program will help you develop the required language skills to be successful in your intended pathway and degree program. 1-Semester Pathway and 2-Semester Pathway pre-sessional English are available. 1-Semester Pathway Pre-sessional English requires Academic IELTS for UKVI 5.0 overall (5.0 in all subskills) and 2-Semester Pathway pre-sessional English requires Academic IELTS for UKVI 4.5 Overall (minimum 4.5 in all sub-skills).

This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre at the University of Sussex followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Sussex. In the International Year One programme, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.

The Pre-masters program in Science and Engineering will let you explore and begin to understand the power of science and engineering in the real world by studying relevant courses such as programming and systems control, mathematics for computing and engineering and data analysis and modelling. While you begin to learn the technical and applied aspects of science and engineering you also are provided with a critical outlook and approach employers want in your chosen field.

In the Master of Science in Computing with Digital Media, you’ll work in an intellectually stimulating environment. Our research ranges from computer science to digital media to e-business. You’ll learn to:

• create and manipulate digital video

• build web-based distributed multimedia applications • produce computer-generated animations • develop interactive virtual environments.

Throughout the course, we emphasise the need to adopt a human-centred approach.

This courses is for you if you want to develop a career in the IT industry, research or academia. The course is supported by the Media Technology Laboratory, which provides: • state-of-the-art digital facilities

• software development tools • multimedia content creation tools • studio facilities and professional video-editing systems.

The Laboratory enables you to undertake practical work assignments using facilities that you would find in the modern digital media industry.
