Overview

The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is a two-semester programme, with guaranteed progression to a wide range of Master’s degrees at Loughborough University. This programme is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the UK. The PMP will allow students to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master's degree studies. Students will study academic modules relating to their chosen progression route. Each semester consists of thirteen teaching weeks, one reading week, and an assessment week. The weekly hours of study varies by semester with students on average studying around 18-21 (and up to 21) hours per week. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the programme and to allow students to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in UK postgraduate programmes. Assessments will include coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examination and unseen written examinations. Master of Science - Finance and Investment MSc Finance and Investment is CIMA accredited, CFA-affiliated and designed to fast-track the careers of graduates with ambitions to work in investment management, investment banking and related sectors. Students will be taught by internationally renowned academics who are able to bring fresh insights into their teaching, both from their research and from their advisory roles on government policy and in industry.
