Bachelor of Arts - Cinema and Media Studies (Optional Co-op)

The Bachelor of Arts in Cinema and Media Studies explores film, television, digital media and other forms of visual culture from critical, historical and theoretical perspectives. Students examine how media is created, interpreted and influenced by cultural, political, social and technological contexts.

Through coursework, research and interdisciplinary study, students develop skills in critical analysis, academic writing, media literacy, communication and visual interpretation. The optional co-op component provides opportunities to gain relevant workplace experience and apply classroom learning in a professional setting.

Graduates may pursue careers in film and media, communications, journalism, arts administration, marketing, cultural organizations and related fields. The program also provides a foundation for graduate study in cinema, media, cultural studies or other humanities disciplines.
