Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Applied Mathematics and Pure Mathematics (G130)

Program Description On the Applied Mathematics / Pure Mathematics degree at Aberystwyth University, students will study mathematical concepts and the identification and analysis of shapes and patterns combined with data collation and calculation. They will learn how to solve problems and develop theories within mathematics. Students will also discover how to use mathematical theory to solve problems in areas of science, engineering, and physics.

The first two years of the Applied Mathematics / Pure Mathematics course will give them a broad introduction to important areas of mathematics, including algebra, calculus, geometry, statistics and mathematical analysis. Students will be able to specialise in the final year and take advantage of expertise by choosing from a wide range of optional modules based on their own interests.

In studying Applied Mathematics / Pure Mathematics students will develop clear analytical thought processes, problem-solving abilities and the capacity for logical argument.
