Bachelor of Arts - Global Political Economy (Program Major)

University of Manitoba

What you will study

The Bachelor of Arts in Global Political Economy takes an interdisciplinary approach to the study of international political, social, environmental and economic issues. The program brings together faculty and course offerings across five disciplines, providing students with a well-rounded understanding of global political economic relations and its effect on local communities.

Global political economy seeks to bridge these perspectives to gain a deeper understanding of the increasingly complex and interconnected world and how global political and economic forces shape local circumstances.

Global political economy is applicable to many careers, including:

• Labour relations • Economics • Conciliation/Mediation services • Immigration/Settlement services • Policy analysis • Emergency management • International Development • Many students go on to graduate school or professional programs including law, city planning, journalism or business.
