Overview

The Pre-Masters program is designed for students who do not qualify for direct entry to a postgraduate degree at the University of Dundee. This may be due to the grades achieved in their undergraduate degree, their current qualifications not being equivalent to a UK undergraduate degree, or a desire to improve their academic and English language skills.

The Pre-Masters course will equip students with the advanced skills necessary to complete their postgraduate study at the University of Dundee. They can choose to study over one or two terms, depending on their academic qualifications and English language level. The one-term option offers a fast track route to their chosen degree course and is studied over three months. The two-term option is studied over six months and provides additional academic English and subject-related support.

Management Strategy and Leadership Students will develop strategies to manage global challenges and opportunities facing businesses, whether in the organizations they work for or in their own businesses they are looking to establish. They will acquire the knowledge needed to manage people, processes, systems, and operations.

Students will gain an in-depth understanding of contemporary business and management issues and will be encouraged to critique the theories and concepts within the business and management environment.

They will develop effective teamwork skills in preparing and delivering presentations in key areas of management. Additionally, students will enhance their critical awareness and synthesis skills, applying these abilities to problem-solving. These skills will benefit them throughout their careers, particularly in management and leadership roles.

With a focus on leadership, students will learn about business strategy and decision-making. They will explore various approaches to leadership, business strategy, and decision-making across different businesses and sectors. Management is fundamentally about designing, implementing, and reviewing strategy. While often misunderstood, successful managers possess a clear understanding of what strategy entails.
