College Certificate IV - Ageing Support + College Diploma - Community Services

This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community-based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation, and review of individualised service planning and delivery.

Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organization and the quantity and quality of outputs to others within limited parameters.

Occupational titles may include: • Personal care worker. • Day activity worker. • Hostel supervisor. • Assistant hostel supervisor. • Care supervisor. • Care team leader. • Accommodation support worker. • Program co-ordinator – social programs. • Support Worker.

The Diploma of Community Services is recommended for participants who have some general knowledge of the community services sector and wish to enter the sector of Community Services or further their skills or careers.

Participants may include: • People wanting to commence in a new industry sector • People who want to continue in to further study • People who are working or volunteering in the sector and are seeking a formal qualification. • People returning to the workforce
