Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Chemistry (Sandwich Year)
Nottingham Trent University - Clifton Campus
What you will study
Program Description Chemistry is a practical subject and students will get to use the analytical equipment and facilities, including mass specs and x-ray crystallography, all in Nottingham Trent University's state-of-the-art labs.
As well as the support students will get from the experienced teaching staff and technicians, students will also learn in small teaching groups to allow them to develop confidence, boost their technical skills and meet new friends.
In the first year, students will be introduced to the various strands of chemistry, and they will start to think about the ways in which chemistry contributes to the economy and the world.
In year two, students will be exploring more advanced concepts and they will have the opportunity to take a short placement to get them thinking about the world of work. Students will also choose a specialist area for further study.
In the final year, students will move on to advanced topics and start to work more independently, carrying out research for their final year project. Students will have more input in deciding which modules they study this year, depending on their own interests and career aspirations.
Please be advised that this course has a sandwich year.
