Doctor of Business and Enterprise (9005)

Doctor of Business and Enterprise program offers students to work with research supervisors to develop research projects that shape theory, policy, and practice in the fields of business and enterprise studies. Under the guidance of two supervisors, students undertake empirical or theoretical research aimed at generating new knowledge in a chosen field and are required to produce either a series of journal articles or a thesis of up to 80,000 words.

Previous PhD research topics have included the internationalisation of SMEs, marketing strategies of multinational companies, sustainability and project management, risk management in multinational corporations, social media as an innovation laboratory, and work–life balance and work–family conflict.

Enterprise is a core research theme, encouraging contributions that demonstrate academic quality and impact across areas such as SMEs, local economies, organisational analysis, and social enterprise. This theme supports collaborative research, shared data, complementary methodologies, and engagement with enterprise activities.
