Associate of Arts - Communication Studies (Optional transfer)

Communication is fundamental to all human endeavors. The communication major studies the ways humans use communication to shape identity and ideas. Graduates will transfer with both an understanding of important communication theory as well as demonstrated proficiency in communication skills. Communication studies majors will explore a variety of communication contexts, from intimate relationships, to public address, to new and emergent media, exploring the many ways communication shapes people's identities and their realities.

Optional Transfer

San Mateo - Cañada College is partnered with various universities and colleges to give interested applicants the opportunity to transfer to a four-year college or university after completing their associates degree or to transfer during their associates degree. Interested applicants should indicate their interest on the application form along with their intended partner university. San Mateo will provide students with the transfer requirements needed to guarantee a transfer. Students still need to apply to the university during the regular period, which is usually one year in advance of the start date.
