Double Degree - Bachelor of Science - Geography & Bachelor of Business Administration - Accounting (Optional Co-op)

With a combined Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Management (B.A./B.Mgt.) or a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Management (B.Sc./B.Mgt.) degree, students can explore a multitude of interests and careers. For example, for candidates who are interested in managing an art gallery, they can major in art and general management. For those who are interested in sports marketing, they can major in kinesiology and marketing.

The Combined B.A./B.Mgt. or B.Sc./B.Mgt. degree program takes five years (50 courses) to complete and leads to the conferral of two degrees.

Geography deals with the diverse landscapes around the world. It is about everything from the original formation of the earth’s surface, to the effects humans have on the environment: past, present and future.

The primary focus of the program is to give students the skills necessary to analyze the organization and interaction of all creatures and ecological processes on the planet — and sometimes beyond it — to address real-world issues.

The department is particularly strong in the areas of geographical information science (GIS) and remote sensing, water research and rural & urban studies; areas of spectacular growth in research, teaching and employment for graduates.

Students will have access to the latest hardware and software available in geography, economics, environment, agriculture, ecology, planning etc., as well as state-of-the-art facilities like the Alberta Water and Environmental Science Building. This facility provides the infrastructure to support the research interests of the University of Lethbridge’s award-winning faculty as they investigate diverse areas such as: weather and climate, water, glaciers, sediments, plants and insects.

Accountants are central to the operations and strategies of all types of organizations as well as the foundation of short- and long-term success. Accountants provide business and financial advice by measuring, analyzing, forecasting and reporting organizational performance, resources and risk. They are required to have integrity and the ability to think critically, communicate, and interact with others effectively.

Accounting students gain technical skills and learn how to address a broad range of business problems. They will acquire and practice the skills needed for success, including writing and presenting, using professional tools and case analyses. Students study financial reporting, individual and corporate taxation, business analytics and information systems, auditing, management control systems and costing, as well as variety of other management disciplines.
