Bachelor of Arts - Italian (Program Major)

University of Manitoba

What you will study

From Roman times, Italy’s contribution to world culture has been enormous. Italy has made significant contributions to the evolution of the arts, sciences and ideas for the greater part of the last 700 years. Knowledge of Italian is a valuable skill; that alone or coupled with another area of study can open the doors to diverse career opportunities.

Students in the Italian program will learn to master the Italian language and develop an in-depth understanding of Italian culture and society.

This program teaches Italian language speaking skills and courses on contemporary literature, Italian culture and history. There are many in-class opportunities for conversation and comprehension for students to experience using the language in a practical sense. Guest lecturers are brought in to speak on a variety of subjects and there are frequent film showings.
