2-Semester Pathway - Pre-Master's Programme - Continue to Master of Arts - Global Communication and Social Change

The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is a two-semester programme, with guaranteed progression to a wide range of Master’s degrees at Loughborough University. This programme is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the UK. The PMP will allow students to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master's degree studies. Students will study academic modules relating to their chosen progression route. Each semester consists of thirteen teaching weeks, one reading week, and an assessment week. The weekly hours of study varies by semester with students on average studying around 18-21 (and up to 21) hours per week. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the programme and to allow students to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in UK postgraduate programmes. Assessments will include coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examination and unseen written examinations. Master of Arts - Global Communication and Social Change This Global Communication and Social Change master’s programme explores contemporary approaches to communication for social change in global and local contexts, including citizen engagement, collective action, edutainment, community media, entrepreneurial changemaking, media development, and social movements. Global Communication and Social Change MA is designed for people wishing to develop professional skills and a critical understanding of the role of media and communication in facilitating processes of social change.
