Double Degree - Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology & Bachelor of Education - Primary/Junior

Lakehead University's Faculty of Education prepares prospective teachers for a dynamic and rewarding career through unique and innovative programming. The program emphasizes practical, experiential learning to ensure students are fully prepared to enter into the workforce post-graduation. Lakehead University's programs are continually adapted to encompass a variety of educational settings and training opportunities in two divisions: • Primary-Junior (P/J): JK – Grade 6 • Intermediate-Senior (I/S): Grades 7-12

The Concurrent Education program allows students to take courses in both the Faculty of Education and the faculty offering their academic major before taking two years exclusively with the Faculty of Education; five-year program.

The School of Kinesiology will allow students to study the science of human movement, physical activity, and their relationship to health, well-being and performance. The multidisciplinary Kinesiology programs explore how the body moves by studying: • Anatomy • Physiology • Biomechanics • Ergonomics • Musculo-skeletal Injuries • Motor Development and Control • Nutrition • Adaptive Physical Activity • Health, Wellness and Fitness

Additionally, students will learn about the psychological, sociological and cultural factors that influence physical activity in all populations. This breadth of study will teach them to work collaboratively as part of an interprofessional team to deliver the best quality of care in diverse healthcare settings.
