What you will study

Foundation Studies - Engineering and Science (FS022SES) (108492M): Foundation Studies is delivered by the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology Training, a fully owned entity of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University. Foundation Studies provides students with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for their future academic success.

Located in the heart of the vibrant city of Melbourne, close to cafés, shops, arts and entertainment precincts, the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology Training’s Foundation Studies specialist staff support students every step of the way. The university provides opportunities to develop students' global and social network, setting them up for success at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and into the future.

To ensure students get the best start to their studies, the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology has invested in careers counselling, academic and welfare support for international students to access when and where it suits them.

Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical Engineering (Honours) + Bachelor of Industrial Design (Honours) (BH093MEHDD) (079785J): Students will begin their career in mechanical engineering and industrial design. They will gain both the technical and creative skills to design and develop advanced manufactured products.

Industrial design links industry and economy with people, culture, society and environment, while mechanical engineering involves the conversion and control of energy and motion in machinery and systems. This combined degree allows the integration of these highly complementary disciplines.

Students will have the opportunity to design creative solutions through inspiring and sustainable design-and-build projects, as well as taking part in the Engineers Without Borders Challenge - a humanitarian-focused course offered in all Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology’s engineering degrees.

Please note that applicants from some countries will be required to pay a non-refundable application fee. The fee will go towards the tuition deposit for any students who enroll.
