Associate of Arts - Spanish - Transfer to a California State University

Berkeley City College's Associate of Arts in Spanish for transfer program provide a sequential course of study that prepares students for transfer to four-year institutions with a Spanish major.

Students who successfully complete this transfer program in Spanish earn specific guarantees for transfer to the California State University (CSU) system: admission to a CSU with junior status and priority admission to a CSU campus and to a program or major in Spanish or a similar major. Students transferring to a CSU campus will be required to complete no more than 60 units after transfer to earn a bachelor’s degree.

Students who complete the program will be able to: • Use grammar and vocabulary to demonstrate oral competence in the Spanish language. • Use grammar and vocabulary to demonstrate written competence in the Spanish language. • Describe the culture(s) of the Spanish speaking world. • Interpret Spanish-language texts according to their cultural, literary and/or linguistic content.
