What you will study
The Early Years Primary Education with QTS BA (Hons) at the University of Chester is centered on a transformative vision to develop students into confident, skilled teachers ready to make a meaningful impact on the education of children now and in the future. A key feature of the course is the Enrichment Placement, available in Year 2, which offers students the opportunity to undertake placements within the UK or overseas, broadening their practical experience and global perspective. The course provides students with: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) • Experience across the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1, with opportunities to enhance experience in adjacent age phases such as 0-3 years and Key Stage 2 • Extensive practical experience, including at least 24 weeks in four or more schools or settings • Comprehensive coverage of primary curriculum subject areas and the Areas of Learning and Development within the Early Years Foundation Stage, strengthening skills, confidence, and employability prospects • Opportunities to develop a specialized area of personal and professional interest • Guidance and support from a dedicated team of highly skilled tutors both at the University and within schools/settings, ensuring students are well-supported throughout their journey
