Students can kick start their career with an education in aircraft maintenance and hands-on training in new hangar at the Hamilton International Airport.

Learning outcomes: • Combine theory and practice using state-of-the-art facilities at Mohawk College’s new Centre for Aviation Technology at the Hamilton International Airport, opened February 2021. • Students will inspect a variety of aircraft including small planes, heavy jets and helicopters. • Become familiar with the rules and regulation that guide the aviation industry. • Repair turbine and piston engines. Troubleshoot aircraft systems using the Boeing 737 NG virtual maintenance trainer. • This Transport Canada approved program provides theory and hands-on training to prepare students for certification by Transport Canada, as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer AME-M. 18 months credit towards the 48 months practical work experience required for certification.
