2-Term Pathway - International Incorporated Master's (IIM) - Continue to Master of Science - Business Analytics and Big Data

The Pre-Masters program is designed for students who do not qualify for direct entry to a postgraduate degree at the University of Dundee. This may be due to the grades achieved in their undergraduate degree, their current qualifications not being equivalent to a UK undergraduate degree, or a desire to improve their academic and English language skills.

The Pre-Masters course will equip students with the advanced skills necessary to complete their postgraduate study at the University of Dundee. They can choose to study over one or two terms, depending on their academic qualifications and English language level. The one-term option offers a fast track route to their chosen degree course and is studied over three months. The two-term option is studied over six months and provides additional academic English and subject-related support.

Master of Science - Business Analytics and Big Data The MSc in Business Analytics teaches students to apply the latest analytical and quantitative tools to make informed business decisions based on available data. It also examines the ethical use and management of data concerning its impact on society and individuals.

Open to both business and non-business graduates, the strength of the course lies in its integration of business analytics from a range of business subjects. It offers students options to specialize in areas such as marketing, finance, Big Data, management, or international business.

This program is geared toward participants who value combining business analytical skills with those of business and includes teaching support from colleagues in Computing Science. It provides the necessary skills to analyze data and understand the models of business analytics. Such analytical skills are increasingly important in a world that generates large quantities of data, are highly valued by employers, and are in high demand.

The course also offers the associated business skills necessary for business analysts to possess the contextual awareness needed to operate at the highest levels of understanding, focusing on the "needs" and "uses" of the analysis. To help students make a significant impact in their businesses, the program teaches how to manage and use appropriate visualization techniques, as well as prescriptive and predictive analytics, all with a focus on business applications.
