What you will study

Accredited by The Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical Sciences degree will give learners a broad understanding of pharmaceutical sciences. It explores areas such as biochemistry, biology, physiology, pharmacology, and drug design and delivery. Students will also get practical experience with a project and laboratory work. Teaching team includes senior academics, professional practitioners with industry experience, lab technicians, and external experts who provide guest lectures on some modules. Even PhD researchers offer lab support, which undergraduate students find very useful. Students go to a range of companies and organizations of varying sizes for their placements, including large multi-national firms, government agencies, the NHS and small to medium sized companies engaged in research, analytical services and manufacturing (for Engineering include civil engineering and construction companies). Previous students have worked at Eon, Dyson, ADEY, PS Analytical and E-liquids and GSK.

The BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical Sciences graduates can find work in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries (production development, analytical science, quality assurance and information science), research and development, teaching, forensic science, environmental pollution and health and safety.
