Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Interior Architecture and Design

The Interior Design programme offers a creative blend of design skills to equip students for industry. It applies conceptual methodology to imaginatively adapt or re-use interiors. Key study themes include materials, hand and digital making skills, drawing, furniture and detailing, sustainability, human centred design, technology and digital communication.

The faculty will show students how innovative new technology can help them bring their interior design ideas to life. And students will be given opportunities to work on real projects for big businesses. Recently the students have worked on live projects to develop interiors for Adidas, Herman Miller and Accor hotel group.

This exposure to live clients and stakeholders is something the University is proud of. The faculty encourages students to use their time with University as an opportunity to work with more and more external partners, organisations and businesses. This helps them challenge themselves and develop connections and skills that will be invaluable after graduation – whilst also building a sense of identity as a designer. Many of the graduates go on to work in creative roles in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and beyond, for companies like AECOM, Area, and IKEA amongst others.
