Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Musical Theatre (WW45)

The BA (Hons) Musical Theatre at the University of West London is an Equity and Spotlight recognised course that equips students with the skills and experiences needed to succeed in today’s musical theatre industry.

Students will work at the cutting edge of industry practice, collaborating with highly experienced professionals, while tutors guide them through their creative development as they refine their skills and create new and exciting work.

Students will showcase their talents through a range of performances, including full-scale musicals, fringe theatre, tours of schools, concerts and cabarets.

The course prepares students for life as working performers, offering insights into auditions, self-management, representation and business skills, alongside guidance on essential promotional materials such as headshots, CVs and showreels.

At Level 4, students will focus on the core skills of singing, acting and dance before integrating them into performance. At Level 5, they will continue developing these core skills while exploring additional performance techniques such as acting for screen, puppetry and voiceover, and will create and perform original work in the LCM Cabaret Festival and a school tour. At Level 6, students will perform in full-scale musicals to agents and casting directors in the on-campus theatre and will film a professional showreel alongside a showcase, opening opportunities for screen work.

Students will also have the opportunity to gain the Licentiate of the London College of Music (LCME), achieving two qualifications through the course and enhancing employment opportunities in education.

As versatile musical theatre artists, students will be equipped to carve their own path in the industry and take control of their careers.
