What you will study

The Social Work, BA Hons degree provides academic knowledge and practical skills students will need for a social work career. They'll explore a range of social issues, within children and families and adult social work.

Greenwich's teaching staff are active in research and experts in their fields while social work placements with local authorities will give students the skills required to practice as a social worker. Graduates can apply to register with the social work regulator, Social Work England.

In 2021 the University secured Government funding to continue working together with London Borough of Bexley, London Borough of Lambeth, Hestia and the University of Kent (Associate Partner). This partnership will help develop a stronger and inclusive learning culture that involves people with lived experience, practitioners, employers, newly qualified social workers, as well as researchers and academics, and with a focus on the learners.

Greenwich's relationship with various partner agencies and social welfare organizations was commended by the HCPC. This BA Hons degree has strong work placement arrangements with local authorities as well as the private and voluntary sectors.
