Overview

Humber’s Bachelor of Commerce – Marketing degree program gives students a comprehensive grounding in both general business knowledge and specialized marketing skills. The program starts with a foundation of business studies in areas such as organizational behaviour, law, economics, finance and accounting, marketing, and operations management. Specialization courses that focus on marketing strategies will give students the skills, knowledge and experience needed to stand out from the crowd.

Students will learn from professors recognized for their expertise and extensive industry contacts. The program curriculum, based on current trends, technologies and methodologies, brings real world challenges into the classroom.

By graduation, students will have developed a wide range of marketable skills including: • • creating a strategic marketing plan • creating a strategic branding plan • conducting a product analysis • using marketing analytics to understand consumer behaviour • using social media and digital advertising for product promotion • designing and implementing a consumer relationship management system

Humber’s project-based curriculum means students will take projects from idea to execution while working in a real-world, team-based environment.

The program requires that students complete 14 weeks/420 hours of paid work in the summer between the sixth and seventh semesters. This gives students the hands-on, real-world experience that employers value. Students' work placement will give them the opportunity to explore the field they would like to work in when they graduate. Humber will work with employers and their industry partners to help students identify opportunities to pursue.
