The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology's Master of Applied Science (Built Environment) is designed for professionals desiring to deepen their knowledge and extend their skills through an individually supervised research program in a specialist focus area.

Through students' research, they will contribute a body of knowledge to their field that includes the understanding of recent developments in one or more disciplines.

Students will develop advanced knowledge of research principles and methods applicable to the their field of work or learning, including mastery of theoretical knowledge and to reflect critically on theory and its application and develop the communication and technical skills to design, evaluate, implement, analyse, theorise and disseminate research that makes a contribution to knowledge and/or professional practice.

The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology's graduates have highly developed technical skills to design, evaluate, implement, analyse, theorise and disseminate research that makes a contribution to knowledge and/or professional practice within government, non-government and corporate environments.

Students demonstrate high-level personal autonomy and accountability, as well as creativity and initiative in new situations and for further learning, by planning and executing a substantial piece of research.

Please note that applicants from some countries will be required to pay a non-refundable application fee. The fee will go towards the tuition deposit for any students who enrol.
