The program equips students with the fundamental skills required to become effective integrated designers. Working within a collaborative creative community, students learn to shape how people understand, navigate and engage with the world through design.

At RMIT, graphic design is taught as a strategic tool, with a strong emphasis on creative thinking, research capability and design judgement. This approach prepares students to work across industries and adapt to the evolving nature of the field.

Students build a solid foundation in key areas of graphic design, including typography and visual communication, layout and composition, visual storytelling, research and concept development, strategic design thinking, and the creation of design systems across multiple platforms.

These core capabilities underpin a broad range of applications, from branding and user experience to service design, positioning graphic design as a pathway into wider integrated design practice.
