Overview
This pathway is designed to allow international students to reach their potential across a range of Health and Life Science disciplines at Robert Gordon University.
Robert Gordon University offers a range of forward thinking, uniquely practical Health and Life Sciences degrees, designed to give students vital hands on experience, interpersonal skills and knowledge required for this profession.
The Health and Life Science degrees at Robert Gordon University are designed to respond to the needs of these constantly evolving and forward thinking professions. For those with strengths in the key science subjects, these degrees offer a wide range of career opportunities across numerous industry sectors, including pharmaceuticals, law enforcement, oil and gas, environmental, food and drink, and research.
When studying at Robert Gordon University, students will be immersed in the industry through a variety of internship and practical experiences, including close interaction with practitioners. Each of the Health and Life Sciences degrees includes between 30-40 percent of hands on experience; just one of the reasons why the graduate employment rate for these degrees is so high.
An important element of the course is a minimum 12-week practical work placement in the final year (subject to availability) that gives students an opportunity to try out their skills and gain confidence in the workplace. Students may work alongside a nutritionist in research, food and drink company or a government agency. Food Science at RGU currently ranks 3rd in the UK (The Times, 2018).
