Overview

At University of Liverpool, students will receive a general grounding in all aspects of Irish Studies. They will explore Irish identity and society from a number of perspectives including the historical, the linguistic, the literary and its material culture. Students then have the opportunity to choose modules in order to specialize in a specific area. In Year One of Politics students take two compulsory modules Foundations in Politics and Foundations in International Politics, as well as two optional modules focused on British Politics, Comparative Politics, or Study Skills. In Years Two and Three there are a wide choice of optional modules, including the option of a Dissertation in Year Three, giving students the chance to complete a sustained, original piece of work on a topic of their choice.
