What you will study
The Undergraduate Foundation Program in Humanities and Social Sciences is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to a wide range of undergraduate studies at the University of Central Lancashire.
The Foundation portion of this program lasts one academic year (nine months). The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.
There are four academic pathways to choose from and candidates will study the pathway most suited to their chosen progression degree. Academic skills relevant to the specific subject area will be taught to fully prepare them for university study. The pathways are: Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Life Sciences.
In a constantly changing global business environment, multi-national organisations are seeking graduates who have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of how businesses operate in the global arena.
This course opens the doorway to a wide variety of business roles. A career as an international business specialist in multinational consultancy firms and could be working in international financial institutions, recruitment agencies and many more. The students will develop all the skills to undertake business activities beyond national boundaries. The students will will also develop your cultural intelligence and global citizenship.
