What you will study

The BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography provides a strong foundation for a career as a diagnostic radiographer, equipping graduates with the professional skills, practical experience and technological expertise required for contemporary clinical practice. The programme is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), enabling graduates to apply for registration as a diagnostic radiographer on successful completion, subject to meeting HCPC requirements. Graduate outcomes demonstrate strong employability, with 95% of graduates in work or further study within 15 months of completing the course, according to the Graduate Outcomes Survey.

Clinical placements form a significant component of the degree, accounting for approximately half of the programme and supporting the development of both technical and interpersonal skills in real healthcare settings. Practical learning is further enhanced through hands-on experience in a purpose-built diagnostic imaging suite. Teaching is delivered by an enthusiastic team of qualified health professionals who create an engaging and inspiring learning environment. The course reflects the collaborative nature of healthcare practice, with radiographers working alongside other professionals to diagnose and treat patients using imaging techniques such as X-rays, CT scans and ultrasound.

With a continuing shortage of radiographers in the UK and rapid technological advancements transforming the profession, this programme offers timely preparation for entry into an essential and evolving healthcare field.
