Overview

If you do not meet the English language entry requirements for the Pre-Masters, you can study the English for Pre-Masters course first. At the end of the English for Pre-Masters course, you will take an IELTS test to assess your level of English. You will progress to your chosen program when you complete the course and achieve the required IELTS score. This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the Durham University International Study Centre located at Queen's Campus, in Stockton on Tees. After completing the pathway, students will progress into a program at Durham University. In a Pre-Masters program students will study courses related to their intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance their skills as a student. Advancement into their intended program depends upon successful completion of the pathway program. This Pre-Masters provides the subject knowledge, language proficiency and study skills students need to progress to degree study at the University of Durham, Durham City campus in a range of subjects related to economics, accounting or finance. After completing this pathway, students will transfer to the MSc - Marketing program. Marketing touches all aspects of an organisation and helps shape and direct corporate strategy. Durham’s MSc Marketing program will equip students with the essential skills and knowledge to excel long-term across all marketing-related careers. The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is the leading professional body for marketers worldwide and exists to develop the marketing profession, maintain professional standards and improve the skills of marketing practitioners. Durham University has joined forces with CIM to give students the opportunity to gain professional qualifications through CIM Graduate Gateway. CIM qualifications are highly sought after by employers, and map alongside Durham's degrees which ensures we are equipping students with the best opportunities for a successful marketing career.
