What you will study

The BA (Hons) Business Accounting and Finance provides access to a Financial Markets Lab, offering hands-on experience with the same information and technologies used by financial professionals worldwide. The course develops a new generation of versatile business and finance graduates by combining accounting and finance expertise with knowledge of leadership, strategy and governance. Practical problem-solving skills are strengthened through projects for real organisations, supported by teaching from experts who are shaping contemporary business and finance thinking. On successful completion, graduates are eligible to apply for all 11 of the maximum exemptions offered by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

The programme offers a strong grounding in financial and management accounting alongside business strategy and organisational leadership, creating a powerful skill set for rapid advancement across a wide range of business and finance careers globally. Professional development is embedded throughout the course, with progression towards recognised accountancy qualifications from bodies such as CIMA and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Graduates may also gain additional exemptions from ACCA and ICAEW.

Students can register with CIMA during their undergraduate studies, gaining access to a range of professional benefits that support career progression. Learning is further enhanced through hands-on experience with professional data and information services, including Bloomberg and specialist accounting software, ensuring graduates are well prepared for the demands of the modern business and finance sector.
