Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - English and Psychology (NAW)

University of Windsor

What you will study

Program Description The English Language and Literature and Psychology combined program is offered jointly by the English and Psychology departments to allow students to explore facets of both areas.

In studying English literature, students will be able to understand the ways in which language and literature inform and reflect various cultures, social bodies, and historical periods, and can explore the diversity of literary and social voices within traditions of literature. This program trains students to interpret, reorganize, and rephrase written materials to improve or modify effectiveness, and to assert their knowledge, ideas, and opinions in persuasive writing with correct grammar and vocabulary.

Psychology courses cover topics such as: memory, motivation, and decision making; how the attitudes and actions of an individual influences other people; the origins and treatment of mental illness; human development from birth to death; and the way cultural backgrounds shape the way people think and behave. The University of Windsor's large and small lectures, seminars, and discussion groups offer opportunities for active learning, and for participation in field settings.
