3-Semester Pathway - Extended International Foundation Year - Business, Law, Social Studies - Transfer to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Media, Culture and Communications

Program Description This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre at Liverpool John Moores University followed by entry into a university program offered at Liverpool John Moores University. In your international foundation year, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.

The International Foundation Year in Business, Law and Social Studies will familiarize you with a wide area of study. You will develop your critical thinking skills, creativity, analytical and team working skills, providing you with the most crucial skills required as a successful graduate.

This BA (Hons) course gives you an opportunity to look at how these industries contribute to our every day experiences, through the study of media institutions like television, film, advertising, publishing and journalism, as well as forms of communication (public relations, social marketing, fiction, documentary, video games, magazines and new media) and cultural trends and practices (youth culture, comedy, social media, consumerism, travel, tourism and fashion).

The programme is designed with your future employability in mind, so you are encouraged to develop transferable skills such as research, communication, problem solving, teamwork and independent working. Although we focus on theoretical and critical study, we incorporate applied case studies and work-related learning into many aspects of the programme, including a period of work experience with a local or national organisation.
