The Integrated Foundation – Bachelor of Arts (Honours) – 3D Animation (WQ16) focuses on animation techniques through a range of digital mediums including film, television, games, and online platforms. The Foundation Year in Animation represents the first year of the four-year BA degree programme across the two courses. The aim of the foundation year is to introduce the fundamental principles of animation. This includes the practical use of relevant software, an introduction to core pre-production methodologies, and the development of a conceptual understanding of the range of skills involved within animation.

The foundation year course is designed for students who require additional time to develop their portfolio and skill set prior to entering the first year of undergraduate study. The course aims to ignite students’ creativity and imagination, enabling them to discover new ways of making, thinking, and documenting.
