Bachelor of Science - Economics (with International Foundation Program)

University of Roehampton

What you will study

How has the pandemic changed the world economy? How can humans best combat global warming?

Economics can be applied to every aspect of life. On this programme, students will gain the practical and transferable skills needed to solve real-world problems, addressing important social issues and policy questions.

Through testing their understanding of theory with real-world examples, students will gain invaluable experience for their future career.

Students will be taught about the different methods of reasoning and tools used by economists to tackle issues and problems of economic policy, and develop the skills needed for interpreting real world economic events.

Students will learn to source information and perform portfolio analysis. With access to a dedicated Bloomberg trading room and the Reuters Market Data System, students will be using the same tools as industry professionals, ensuring that when they graduate, they have the key skills required for a job in industry.

In Years 2 and 3, students will be able to choose from a range of optional modules to tailor their degree to their own interests.

This course offers all students the option of a one-year paid work placement, to boost their employability even further. If students choose this route, they will take the placement following year two of their course, and then return to complete their degree.
