Infant and Child Mental Health program equips frontline providers with skills to support infants, children, and families. The curriculum combines theoretical and practical courses, giving students knowledge and judgment to promote positive mental health in homes, schools, and communities.
Students will understand children's mental health services, current research, relevant legislation, and human rights, crucial for supporting children and families. Through coursework, simulations, and field placements, they will explore how biological and social factors impact children's mental health and wellness. Students will develop, critique, and implement strategies to foster mental health and engage in reflective practice as part of an interprofessional mental health team.
