What you will study

Program Description By studying this course you will develop as a highly skilled, experienced professional with a comprehensive understanding of the Film and Television industries. You will be introduced to the creative and technical aspects of single camera filmmaking and multi-camera television production, supported by film and media theory to inform your practice. You will learn how to generate and develop ideas and adopt a creative approach to your work.

In the final year you will undertake a major production project and experience how media theory underpins your practice. There will be opportunities for work experience with partners at the BBC, other production companies and to work on projects for external clients.

In the second and third years there are a range of options to enable you to develop your own areas of interest and expertise.

The course is designed for those students who want to learn to make films and television programmes in a range of different formats and genres, using the most up to date industry standard technologies. It is intended for anyone who has an interest in film, television and media and whilst we are not subject specific the programme typically attracts students with an arts and humanities background in subjects such as Creative Media Production, Media Studies, Film Studies, English, Politics, Art and Design, Psychology, Economics or Music. We welcome students who have A-level, BTEC or equivalent qualifications.
